Question: My leads have slowed since I took time off my wedding business earlier this year.  How can I boost my business quickly?

“My biggest frustration atm is that I know I am an expert in my field, I have been a celebrant for over 10 years now and for the most of that time I have been full time. So it is not my hobby it is my passion and my only income but as I took some time off early this year my business has lost momentum and bookings have slowed down. I am frustrated with Social Media and don’t know where to spend my time and energy to get results fast.

I am really hoping coming across you will help me get my business back to its full potential.

Thank you in advance for your support.”

With warmth

Andrea

PS: I have worked with international speaking and event companies over the years in the quiet wedding season to supplement my income and so I know a lot about that industry but really want to find the right match for my business to take it to the next level.

Answer: Leverage your strengths and enthusiasm to kick start your business with what’s worked best in the past.

Hi, Andrea.

You’ve learned firsthand that when you start marketing, you stop working.

It’s normal that things slowed down when you took some time off.  Now it’s time to revitalize your wedding business!

Our recommended plan of action depends on your individual strengths and experience.  It’s always easier to lead with your strengths, rather than investing time and energy into a type of marketing that isn’t natural for you.

First, answer these questions:

  • Where are your current leads coming from?
  • What are your strengths?
  • What specific talents and skills do you have?
  • What type of marketing is most enjoyable for you?

The easiest way to boost your marketing fast is to do more of what’s ALREADY working for you.

Second, let’s look at new marketing activities that may be a good fit for you.  All of these are “bang for the buck” strategies, meaning they yield a high return on investment in terms of time and money spent.

Find Your Perfect Marketing Match

#1 – Blogging and/or Guest Blogging

If you enjoy writing and naturally find yourself sharing your expertise and resources, consistent blog posts about local wedding topics 2-3 times per week are a highly effective ways to attract targeted leads.

#2 – Networking

If you’re an outgoing, social person who loves to meet with others face to face, networking activities are the strategy for you.  Join a local wedding professional association and get involved; invite others out to lunch and find out how you can help each other.  The right connections will earn referrals fast.

#3 – Public Relations & Press

This strategy works well if you’re an excellent communicator and you’re not afraid to talk about yourself and ask for what you want.  Focus on using blogging for PR, press releases and pitch news sources with newsworthy stories about  your business.

#4 – Video

If you enjoy getting in front of people to share what you know and you aren’t camera shy, create videos and share them on YouTube, your website and blog.  See Video Traffic Academy to learn how to get your videos to Page 1 on Google.

#5 – Social Media

This strategy may be for you if you’re addicted to checking in with friends and fans on social media sites and you keep your cell phone handy at all times. Pick your favorite social media site to master first and create a 15 minute daily marketing routine.

#6 – Google Adwords & Facebook Ads

If you LOVE numbers and spreadsheets, you’re a natural for this strategy.  Set up a system for running your ads and tracking your clicks and leads, then make changes to optimize.

These are just a few marketing strategies you can choose from.  Start with your strengths and go from there.

It’s a lot easier to succeed with something that’s proven successful in the past and that you’re inspired to do, rather than wasting time forcing yourself to do something that might not work.
