There comes a point in wedding marketing where you find yourself doing a million things, but find that you aren’t getting the results. Peter Shallard relates the exhausting sales tactics to a crocodile grabbing hold of a fighting antelope and refusing to let go in a great article on his blog The Shrink For Entrepreneurs. Your business lead may eventually give in if you keep badgering them, but more likely than not you will wear out and they will make their escape.
Peter quotes Zig Ziglar in explaining the obstacles to each sale “Every sale has five basic obstacles: no need, no money, no hurry, no desire, and no trust.” The bottom line is that you need to focus your marketing on the people with whom those obstacles will not be a huge road block. You’ll still get some of the other brides, but if a bride is ready to buy your product all you have to do is convince her that you are the right fit for her.
