You know you need to keep your wedding business social media content fresh, but sometimes coming up with new ideas is difficult. Besides sharing your current projects and real weddings, what else should you post to attract brides ?
Here are some ideas for wedding-related social media updates:
1. Love Quotes
While quotes can sometimes be overused, love or marriage quotes paired with beautiful wedding photography can provide inspiration for brides and grooms.
2. Resource Lists
Do you have a list of amazing wedding songs or favorite wedding books, websites or magazines? Sharing resources with your audience is always appreciated and can lead to more shares for your posts.
3. Helpful Blog Posts
Remember that great blog post you wrote last year with tips and advice? Chances are you have new fans that have never seen it and the advice is still relevant. Linking to these past blog posts is a great way to reuse your content while still keeping your social media updates fresh. What if you don’t have a blog? Sharing other’s content is also a great idea. Make sure to tag or mention them in the update as well for networking purposes.
4. Weekly Themes
I know one wedding planner who posted images of a different pair of wedding shoes every Thursday and a DJ who started each Monday off by posting a link to that weekend’s top wedding song. Is there something that you could post each week that would inspire and connect with your audience?
5. Hashtag Days
Take advantage of trending hashtag days like #WeddingWednesday and #tbt (Throwback Thursday) by participating in them each week. Your #WeddingWednesday post could be a helpful tip, wedding inspirational photos or even a special promotion, while #tbt could be a photo of a past event (try tagging the bride and groom as well). How can you take advantage of these #hashtags?
Setting up an Editorial Calendar
If you aren’t posting updates regularly, set up a social media editorial calendar with content ideas planned two weeks to a month in advance to help keep you on track and your content current.
What if you don’t have time to write new posts daily? Set aside 1 hour each week to write all of your updates, then use a scheduling tool like Buffer or Hootsuite to schedule them for the week.
