Email marketing. Oh the joys of writing an email, sending it off and never hearing back. Email marketing is one of the most crucial parts of marketing now days, and one that needs the most tweaking to reach your audience. When you’ve got a wedding business things can get even trickier because a bride comes from every possible background and point in life.
So how do you get more brides opening, reading and responding to your emails? Check out the awesome article by HubSpots Allyson Galle for 11 different things you can do to improve your email marketing results. Some quick tips however are to remember that you want the subject line to be interesting. Don’t reply to an incoming email and leave the subject line “RE: Contact Form Submission.” No bride is going to be motivated to open that email. Instead replace it with a 50 character or less blurb that is motivational and to the point.
Another quick tip that will help get more opens and interest in your wedding business emails is to send your emails at the right time of day, and right day of the week. Obviously this doesn’t apply to an email response to someone who is already interested. However if you are doing a follow up of 2-3 emails to a bride whom you haven’t heard from you want to catch her when she has time to read the email. It will depend on where you are based, but a general rule of thumb is to email in the morning or late afternoon on either Tuesday or Thursday. Avoid weekends. That is the time she is going to be out at the bridal shows, shopping, meeting with vendors in person, and generally going crazy and not interested in a new contact from another bridal company. What do you think? What tactics do you use to boost bridal interest in your emails?
