3 Ways Wedding Businesses Can Interact More Effectively On Facebook

I can’t stress enough the importance of interaction on Facebook. It isn’t enough to just create a page. You have to interact with your followers if you expect any of those followers to turn into leads for your wedding business.

Donna Maria tackled this issue on her blog by interviewing Dan Zarrella, co-author of The Facebook Marketing Book. A new tool that is huge at boosting this interaction is being able to interact with your followers as your business rather than as just you individually. Make sure you have an actually business page and you’re good to go! Another quick tip? Have a business page for you – not just your products. This builds credibility. And finally, one of the biggest mistakes businesses use is not posting photo’s on their business site. The more pictures you have, the more interest you create in your products and services.

Is Your Brand Too Integrated With Social Media?

nervous-brideSocial media is one of the major tools that a wedding company can use to promote their business. It is crucial to have a strong social media presence. However, if you can’t keep up with it all it may mean that you have overdone yourself and need to reevaluate and take a step back for a bit.

There are a ton of social media sites, but you need to start slow, and figure out how much time you can afford in building up your brand and presence on each site. Make sure you have the time to spend to update your site with status updates, and that you have a presence that blows people away, versus underwhelming them. If you are stretched too thin you will be hurting your image rather than helping it. Check out this article where Ben Cathers talks about what the symptoms are of your business being too integrated with social media!

How to Save Time Doing Social Media

Running_With_BalloonsIt can be easy for wedding businesses to avoid keeping up with their social media work due to the amount of time they spend on it each and every day. Cutting time spent on social media is crucial, but cutting the actual social media ends up being extremely detrimental to building your business. So, how can you cut your time down and still get everything done?

There are actually quite a few cool tools out there to help, but my favorite is definitely Hootsuite. Not only can you connect it with all your social media sites and schedule posts months in advance, but the paid version gives you all kinds of additional helpful tools. For instance if you need to post a link, use their custom shortened URL and then keep track the stats on total clicks, and even the region the clicks are coming from. You also have access to Google Analytics and Facebook Insights. How cool is that? For more info on what Hootsuite can do check out the post on Michael Gray Graywolf’s SEO Blog.

Secrets To Becoming An Effective Social Networker

Social networking, or just networking in general is an easy skill to learn. Obviously any wedding business is going to want to network with other wedding businesses to get their name out there, and build relationships that are beneficial to both parties. So the question isn’t whether a business should network, but how it can network in a beneficial way.

Networking

Jonathan Farrington writes that the primary step often overlooked in networking is that it IS a two way street. You need to be willing to be open and share your insight and questions as well as be willing to accept advice as well as give it to those who ask. It is your openness that builds a lasting relationship with other businesses, and the fact that you are free with your advice without requiring anything in returns builds a trust base that becomes the base for any solid long term networking relationship.

New Facebook Stats Let You Find Targeted Brides

social network

According to new research, more than 71 percent of ALL INTERNET USERS are using Facebook – or at least have an account.  Did you see that?  More than 7 of every 10 people!!  Talk about Advertising GOLD!

I was curious about just how much information you could find on Facebook and came across this super cool blog with loads of info.  This study seriously includes all demographic info like where the Facebook usage has increased the most (want to sell your product in Chicago?  You’re in luck – Facebook usage there is up 69 percent!  Awesome! Get marketing! Ha!) right down to what items have how-many likes.

While some people would say this an “invasive” study…well, I suppose in some instances, I would agree.  However, to people like you who are looking for every avenue possible to get the word out about your services, it’s priceless marketing.  Literally.

What do you think about social network marketing?
