Why People Love Business Blogs and Why You Need One

Writing_with_Coffee

The buzz about blogging can get irritating just like the buzz of a fly. It might not be something you want to hear about, and if you aren’t already blogging you are so busy you just can’t see the point.

The point of blogging isn’t to waste your time, or to write endlessly just to bring in traffic. Gordon McLachlan has written a great article reminding us that the whole point of blogging is to write about something that you love, because you love it. If you are passionate about your topic your fan base will be as well, and they will love you for being open, and sharing things that help them. Building a loyal audience to your blog can be super easy if your blog is connected with your business website.

From there the next step of using it to bring in leads for you business can be easy. If your audience loves what you write about, and love the style you write in they are very likely to be much more interested in your product than they are going to be in someone else’s whom they’ve never met and don’t know a thing about. What do you think? Have you tried blogging and if so has it worked for you?

How To Juice Up Your Wedding Business Blog

At_DeskHave you ever been on a blog where after reading two or three posts you realize that all the posts sound the same, even if they cover different topics? Well this isn’t because of that authors writing style. It’s because they haven’t found a way to draw you as the reader in. While this may be okay on personal blogs it isn’t so great on a blog used for marketing a business.

Lindsey McCaffrey of Absolutely Write writes about the importance of using holidays and other important days in connection to your topic to help you create more interesting blog posts. This is a great way to stir things up, and notoriously these posts are the ones that are going to be shared around to friend lists. While you do need serious, informative articles on your blog you also need posts that reach out and connect to people on a more personal level. What do you think?

Making Your Blog Work For You

Blogging seems to be something that nearly everyone has done at some point. However the difference between playing with a personal blog and creating a successful blog for your wedding business is major. The key to making it work is in the extreme basics and small details.

First of all Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty stresses the importance of owning your blog domain and using a host such as WordPress to enable you to edit it easily. Write good content, but don’t take forever in getting it prepped and up, and on this note, make sure you use good, eye catching pictures in your posts.

Another brilliant point Abby made in her article is the importance of involving your readers. Don’t just ask them to make comments. Get them to submit articles and pictures. It works two fold in that it will get them more interested in your blog and by default integrates testimonials about your business.
