Question_Mark_WomanMarketing your business is about more than just telling people about your product or service. How many times have you hung up on telemarketers because they have done just that? I have a bad tendency to back up and cut conversations short when talking in person with salespeople who don’t even try to make a personal connection. The truth is that you have to promote yourself, as an extension of your brand to sell something.

So how do you sell yourself as well as your brand? Passive Panda has a awesome article with 10 tips on how to self promote in a way that actually works. Probably the first and primary tip to getting started is to be excited. Be excited about what you are selling and be excited about the person you are talking to. If you can dredge up enough emotion to show that you are passionate about what you do then why would they be excited about it? Remember, connecting with the potential client on their level is the bottom line to getting any sale.
