I would love to say that there is no difference between being a male business owner and a female business owner, but we all know that isn’t true. However we can all be super grateful for the strides in the right direction that have happened over time.
So how do you handle the pressure and expectations (or lack thereof) of being a woman business owner? Dave Thomas wrote a great article on the subject pointing out that there really isn’t a difference between men and women business owners and encouraging women to go for the dream and realize success. Yes, there are people who are going to react to your being a business owner and who won’t take you seriously, but at the end of the day dealing with them has everything to do with believing in yourself and creating a support structure around yourself of people who also believe in you.
There is no reason that you can’t build an extremely successful wedding business, and thankfully, when it comes to weddings people expect more women business owners and accept that they will be good at what they do. Regardless of what type of business you have however a woman has just as much ability, knowledge and passion to build a business and make it successful as anyone else. What have you experienced as a woman business owner?
