When you start a business it is really easy to forget to brand that business. So what exactly does it mean to brand your business? To keep things simple the dictionary definition is “a particular product or a characteristic that serves to identify a particular product.” It is what sets your business apart from every other business on the planet.
As Susan Gunelius points out in her article on forbs.com the brand is what your customers expect from you and what you are able to deliver to them. For a wedding business this can be something as simple as a photography business that has a specific look to their photos, or a bridal gown store that sells certain brands and serves champagne once a month. Once you have figure out what you sell, who you are selling to, and what sets you apart from your competitors you have a brand and that brand is what keeps you on track at all times as you build your business.
